Ruiyan Huang

Ruiyan is an intern with the CC Lab.

Ruiyan is a rising senior at Yale College majoring in Statistics & Data Science and Environmental Studies. She is passionate about bridging machine learning and climate innovation. At the Lab, Ruiyan supports work across the geologic and anthropogenic programs. This builds on her semester-long independent study investigating the geophysical properties of flood basalts to assess the potential for commercial-scale in-situ carbon mineralization. Her recent work also includes developing tools for individual leopard identification using deep learning at the Shan Shui Conservation Center. In her free time, Ruiyan enjoys photography, climbing, and backpacking.
